SASSA Learnership Programme 2022

Are you passionate about being part of the SASSA Learnership Program? if the answer is YES then this opportunity could be the platform to start off your own career. All candidates must meet all the necessary requirements set out by SASSA. SASSA stands for South African Social Security Agency. The primary function of this Agency is regulate and control the distribution of social grants. They ensure that everyone receives sufficient amount in time and at a specified date.

There are more than 16 million people throughout South Africa who received social grants monthly. These grants are issued to people who are in need of financial aid, it includes the elderly, disability and child support. SASSA handles the entire process from application to payment. This includes verifying information, approval, and detection along with the prevention of fraud.

SASSA Learnership Programs Available

SASSA has a limited amount of learnership fields for you to consider. Here is a list of their learnership career fields below, however, there may be other fields not mentioned, and once applications open these will be advertised on the SASSA Website.

Learnership career fields:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Disability Management
  • Accounting
  • Public Administration

SASSA learnership program usually takes a period of twelve month unless stated otherwise. Successful Candidates taking part on this initiative will receive a monthly stipend. Candidates will be responsible for their own transport, meals and accommodation costs. Learnerships provided by SASSA does not guarantee a permanent position but if there is an opening in this Government Department they may offer it to deserving candidates upon completion of their learnership.

SASSA Learnership Program:Basic Requirements

To apply for learnerships delivered by SASSA, you must meet all their requirements. Here is a list of the basic stipulations you must meet to be eligible.

Basic SASSA requirements:

  • All candidates must be a permanent South African Citizen
  • Candidates must aged between 18 and 35
  • Applicants must be in possession of a Matric Certificate
  • Candidates must be in possession of a ID Document
  • You must have a diploma or degree in your field of application where applicable

ITC checks will be performed on all qualifying individuals, as well as criminal checks. There will be a pre-screening process done on all selected applicants. This includes vetting of all academic results, referral letters, recommendations, and more. If needed a competency assessment may be required and this is compulsory. Candidates with a disability are invited to apply in their field if a learnership becomes available. These Candidates must supply a medical certificate stating the disability.

Application Process

SASSA learnerships applications online are not available at the moment. You can download the Z83 Government form for applications and use the learnership reference number to apply. Once learnerships open you can complete the form and along with all necessary documentation. For other available learnership opportunities, you can go through SASSA Websites  SASSA Careers Page.

All necessary documents must be certified copies, please do not submit the originals as they will not be returned. You must also attach a curriculum vitae, motivational letters, and all academic qualifications, plus a copy of your ID document. Emailed or faxed applications will not be taken into account. Applications without documentation or that arrive late, or is incomplete will also not be considered.

Closing Date
